Travel time to work and commuting patterns

Most people in the county commute to the surrounding counties of Claiborne (Tazewell), Hamblen (Morristown) and Hawkins (Rogersville) to work. Travel time to each location is usually under an hour depending on the part of the county being commuted from with the mean travel time being 32.7 minutes. Commuters travel across Clinch Mountain to work, using state highways 31, 66 and 70. Commuters traveling to Claiborne County primarily use state route 33.
